Sworkit Move is made for everyday aches and early discomfort. Sometimes, though, what you're feeling needs a doctor instead, and that's totally okay! Here's how to know when to reach out.
đ¨ Get help right away
Stop exercising and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if you have:
Chest pain or pressure, especially with shortness of breath or pain in your arm, jaw, or shoulder
New numbness in your groin or inner thighs, or new trouble controlling your bladder or bowels
Sudden weakness, numbness, or trouble speaking
A sudden, severe headache, or a headache with a fever and stiff neck
Calf pain with swelling and warmth
A fall or injury where you can't put weight on the area
Check with your provider before you start (or keep going)
Please talk with your doctor first if:
Your pain is 7 out of 10 or higher most days
Your pain keeps getting worse, even with rest
Pain wakes you up at night and doesn't ease when you change positions
You've had a recent injury, fall, or surgery and haven't been cleared to exercise
You have numbness, tingling, or weakness spreading down your arm or leg
A joint locks, catches, gives way, or feels hot and swollen
You're pregnant, or you recently had a baby and haven't been cleared yet
You notice blood in your urine
You have new pain along with unexplained weight loss or a history of cancer
During your sessions
A little mild discomfort can be normal as you get moving. Sharp pain is not. If something feels sharp or just not right, stop that exercise. If the area feels worse after your sessions and doesn't settle down, take a break from your pathway and check in with your provider.
Where can I get more support?
Your doctor is always the best place to start. Your employer or health plan may also offer more support, so it's worth checking with your HR or benefits team too.
Once you're cleared, we'd love to help you get moving again! Reach out anytime through Ask a Trainer in your Sworkit app's Help Center.
