Sworkit has now introduced another way to connect with your fitness data on Android. You can continue to use our Strava, MyFitnessPal, and Fitbit integrations, as is. Google Fit can remain as your fitness app to log steps and workouts in Sworkit as well, but you'll now have the option of using any other apps that have Health Connect integrated. This includes the often-requested Samsung Health.
β
To use Health Connect to log steps, distance, and workouts for challenges, first log into the Sworkit Android App, available from the Google Play Store:
β
Once you have Sworkit installed, sign in or create an account, and go to Settings in the β° menu on the upper left side of the Sworkit home screen. (Verify that you are on version 11.3.0 or later.)
β
β
You should see "Health Connect" under SYNC YOUR STEPS & WORKOUTS
β
**If you see the prompt, "Go to Play Store," your device doesn't come with Health Connect. Click this prompt to be taken directly to the Play Store and download Health Connect. After downloading, come back to Sworkit Settings. You should now see this screen when you select Health Connect.
β
β
Select Connect with Health Connect. You should now be taken to a permissions screen.
β
β
Make sure your desired permissions are toggled ON. **You can always edit this from the Health Connect app itself (you must search Android Settings to access it, it's not visible in your app tray)
β
Now that your Sworkit Health Connect is set up, any apps you regularly use for workout, step, or distance tracking will be connected directly to Sworkit as well!

FAQ
What health data does Sworkit sync from other apps?
We receive your step counts, distance moved, and workout activities from Health Connect. We can send Sworkit workouts and manually added activities (like a bowling session or a treadmill walk) to other apps.
Can I sync steps from Sworkit to another app with Health Connect?
Since Sworkit only imports steps from other apps (we don't count them ourselves), we don't offer this option.
Can I turn off sending workouts to Health Connect but still import them?
Garmin Connection through Health Connect
For Android 14+ you can setup Native Sync between Garmin and Health Connect
Update Apps & OS: Ensure your phone has Android 14+, and both Garmin Connect and Health Connect apps are updated to the latest versions.
Open Health Connect: Find and open the Health Connect app on your Android device.
Go to Permissions: Navigate to the "Apps" or "App permissions" section.
Find Garmin Connect: Locate Garmin Connect in the list of apps.
Grant Permissions: Select Garmin Connect and choose which data types (steps, heart rate, sleep, activities, etc.) you want to send to Health Connect.
Alternatively, from Garmin Connect: Open Garmin Connect > More (three dots) > Settings > Connected Apps > Select Health Connect to launch the permissions screen.
Important Notes
One-Way Only: Garmin Connect sends data to Health Connect; it won't pull data from Health Connect.
Android 14+ Required: This native feature is specifically for newer Android versions.
Alternative (If Needed): For older Android versions or more complex syncing (like two-way), the third-party app Health Sync can bridge data between Garmin and other apps, but it's not needed for the native Android 14+ method.
Troubleshooting
I've successfully enabled Health Connect in Sworkit, but I'm not seeing any steps. Try these π
β
1. Do you have an app for tracking steps? You will need something like this as Sworkit /HealthConnect doesn't handle the actual tracking. Recommendations include Google Fit, Fitbit, Samsung Health. You must also be able to see steps logging in that app.
β
2. Does the app have Health Connect permissions enabled? If not, please refer to the links above or refer to the documentation of your chosen app for how to enable Health Connect permissions.
