How do Sworkit Warmups and Cooldowns work?

Warming up before exercise is essential for preparing your body and preventing injury. A good warmup increases blood flow to your muscles, improves flexibility, and activates the joints and movement patterns you’ll use in your workout. It also helps you mentally transition into “exercise mode,” so you perform better from the very first rep. Turning warmups ON in Sworkit ensures you start each session ready, safe, and primed for success.

It's equally important to help your body return to its resting state, reducing muscle stiffness and soreness by promoting blood flow to your muscles. Our smart cooldowns will help you improve your recovery and reduce your risk of injury. They can be toggled ON before your workout and are tailored to be the perfect end to your selected workout.

After you've toggled on your warmups and cooldowns, you'll get an estimate of the length of your workout with them included.

So, how does this work?

Your workout will start with warmups relevant to your workout, and lead straight into your workout after they're completed. After the last exercise of your workout and before the cooldown begins, a new screen will appear giving you the option to either end the workout or start the cooldown. If no selection is made, the cooldown will start automatically after 10 seconds. The cooldown exercises are specifically chosen to complement the muscle groups you just worked out.
